Dear Valued Customer:

 

I would like to take this opportunity to inform you about an exciting milestone and other initiatives at Heniff. We recently celebrated our 11-year anniversary as a company. Since day one, our mission has always been the same--provide customers with highly-secure and safe delivery of bulk chemicals, on-time, every time.
 

During these difficult economic times, we have raised our laser-like focus on service and on-time reliability to an even higher level to ensure our customers remain highly satisfied. Our success in this area is attributable, in large part, to our seasoned dispatchers and our experienced and friendly drivers. To ensure quality service, we hire the industry's best drivers. Fortunately, our ability to hire these drivers has improved greatly over time as a result of our well-known and growing reputation as an expanding company and as a new breed of carrier that truly focuses on the customer, one load at a time.

 

In many ways, our reputation has enabled our company to weather the economic storm as we've gained more business from some existing customers and picked up new customers looking for better service.

 

On the technology front, we've made great strides in 2009 toward the advancement of our EDI capability. I'm pleased to say we're now sharing 

documents electronically with our key customers. This capability will include load tendering, order confirmation,  shipment status, and billing.

 

In 2009, we've also invested heavily in new fleet maintenance software to better manage preventive maintenance schedules, parts inventory, fuel and tire usage, mechanic productivity, and much more. Like most companies across the U.S., we're making every effort to reduce costs and increase efficiencies, where possible.

 

As we continue our effort to lead the industry, we look forward to working with you for many years to come, and certainly welcome your on-going feedback regarding ways we can better meet your transportation needs.

Food-Grade Tank Wash in New Orleans

 

Heniff Transportation Systems is excited to announce the recent opening of our food grade tank wash in New Orleans, LA.  This new capability compliments our existing operation, which includes:

  • 4-bay chemical wash
  • 4 railcar cleaning spots
  • 15,000 feet of track
  • 300 railcar storage spots
  • Rail-to-truck and truck-to-rail transfer operations
  • Barge-to-rail and rail-to-barge operations
  • Railcar heating
  • Railcar and truck scales
  • 25 acres of land for development

Recipient of Dow Safety Excellence Award

Heniff Transportation Systems is pleased to announce that it is the recipient of a 2008 Gold Safety Excellence award from The Dow Chemical Company. This recognition is a direct result of our ongoing training programs and communication to ensure a safe workplace for all employees. "Just holding employee meetings isn't enough," says Leon Lupina, Director of Safety. We constantly remind our drivers, mechanics, and other employees to follow safety procedures. We have to be aware of safety all of the time."

Heniff Launches Wellness Program

At Heniff, we're very committed to the health of our drivers and improving their safety. As a result, we launched the Heniff Health and Wellness Program to help admin employees and drivers proactively understand health-related issues and to help make lifestyle changes. The old adage, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," is a core belief of our executive team. 
 
Today, it is well known that many drivers' health problems are the direct result of lifestyle choices such as smoking, lack of exercise and poor nutrition. Knowing that many of these problems will not be overcome overnight, we launched a long-term educational initiative that seeks to reduce or prevent many of these health issues in the coming years.

 

We strongly believe this education, coupled with regular wellness exams, will have the following benefits for our drivers, Heniff as a company, and our customers.

  • Improved job productivity system-wide
  • Improved moral (i.e., happier employees)
  • Reduced driver turnover
  • Reduced absenteeism
  • Lower healthcare costs
